Professional Standards

The Professional Standards Section, formerly known as Internal Affairs, is staffed by Lt. Randy Stull and Sgt. Leon Martin. Their jobs are to investigate complaints from the public and from employees regarding the conduct of civilians and officers plus monitor civil suits filed against the department.

Lt. Stull has been with the Pensacola Police Department since November 1982.

He was born in Gettysburg, Pa., and eventually ended up in Pensacola where he earned an associate of arts degree from Pensacola Junior College and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of West Florida.

Among Lt. Stull's assignments have been Uniform Patrol, TAC, Investigations, and supervising the department's field training program. Before his promotion to lieutenant, he was a sergeant in Professional Standards.

Sgt. Martin was born in Pensacola and earned an associate of arts degree in liberal arts from St. Leo University.

Before his employment with the Pensacola Police Department, Sgt. Martin was a corrections officer with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. He was employed by the Pensacola Police Department from January 1985 until August 1990 when he left to work for the Pinellas Park Police Department. He returned to the Pensacola Police Department in February 1994. Among his assignments have been Uniform Patrol, Traffic, TAC, and Investigations. He also has supervised the Field Training Officer program.
