During the upcoming months, we will periodically post photographs from the expansion / renovation  of police headquarters at 711 N. Hayne St.

           The project began in December 2009 with Townes Plus Architects of Pensacola as the architects and Thomco Enterprises, Inc. of Fort Walton Beach as the builder. The project will take about 18 months to complete. It is being funded by Penny for Progress and will cost $3,209,468. This will add almost 9,000 square feet to the existing 33,090 square footage of police headquarters, which was completed in 1987.

            The project will group administration personnel, build space for the Community Services Division, expand the training room to accommodate actual number of officers who train together, provide space for supervisors in the Patrol Division, expand the patrol line-up room, enlarge the evidence vault, provide adequate work areas for clerks and secretaries instead of the currently used closets and storage spaces, and upgrade the existing heating and air conditioning system.
